We’re excited to introduce our newest small-capacity, microcomputerized rice cooker this month!

The Micom Rice Cooker & Warmer (NS-LGC05) is stylishly designed, and has innovative technology and cooking features that make it easy and convenient to use.

This rice cooker’s microcomputer uses advanced fuzzy logic technology to make fine adjustments to cooking temperatures, so that rice cooks perfectly each time. The multiple settings let you easily cook a variety of rice, including white, mixed, sushi, brown, and—for the first time—long grain white rice. Expanded healthy menu options include settings for steel cut oatmeal and GABA brown rice, which soaks the brown rice before cooking for enhanced nutrition. Each of these menu settings can be selected on the easy-to-read LCD control panel, which also has a clock, and delay timer function.

This rice cooker uses a triple heater on the bottom, sides, and lid to generate heat all around the inner cooking pan so that the rice heats evenly. The removable steam vent cap located on the outer lid allows for high-temperature cooking without messy overflows. Once rice is cooked, the rice is automatically kept warm, and the REHEAT cycle brings the rice back to serving temperature when you’re ready to chow down.

Along with these great features, the rice cooker comes with a practical and easy-to-clean nonstick coated spherical inner pan. High-contrast water level lines on the inside of the pan make it simple to read how much water should be added to the pan for the specified amount of rice. The pan and the detachable inner lid are both hand washable, and the clear-coated stainless steel exterior is easy to wipe down after use. The built-in retractable power cord and sturdy fold-down handle make it easy to store and transport this compact rice cooker.

The NS-LGC05 Micom Rice Cooker & Warmer comes in a 3-cup capacity, making it ideal for small kitchens. Individuals and small families can make as little as ½ cup of rice or oats and as much as three cups of perfectly delicious rice. Accessories include a rice measuring cup, spatula and spatula holder.

We know you’ll love this new rice cooker as much as we do, and you’ll be able to purchase it from our great retail partners this month! As always, we’d would love to hear from you, so be sure to leave a comment below.

  1. Made great rice for the first few months. Now, everytime I make rice, it stinks like an old dirty rag. Cleaning it thoroughly, didn’t change the results of smelly rice. Now it just looks good on my counter while I depend on a cheap $10 rice cooker to make a better and non-stinky rice. I really depended on zojirushi to produce something amazing for years to come.

    • Hi Gary, sorry to hear about your trouble with your rice cooker. Are you removing the inner lid and steam vent cap after each use and cleaning them? If not, this could cause unwanted flavors to develop in your cooked rice. If you’re still having trouble, please give our customer service team a call at 800-733-6270 and press 1 for a representative. We’d be happy to troubleshoot with you.

  2. I made gaba brown rice setting menu at gaba brown rice. Added to cooker 1 cup (that came with rice cooker) plus 1 3/4 cups water. Took 3 1/2 hrs. to cook. Rice was too thick and lumpy. Did not like.

    • Hi Jennie, we’re sorry to hear you’re having some trouble with your GABA brown rice. For a rice cooker which has the GABA brown setting, please use the measuring cup that comes with the product to measure both rice and water (it is smaller than a standard US 8 oz. measuring cup), and use the BROWN rice water measure lines in the inner cooking pan. You must use regular brown rice, and not sprouted or ‘GABA’ brown rice which has already been activated, as those rices may become mushy when cooked using this setting. If you are still having trouble or if you need any assistance, please give our friendly customer service team a call. They’re available Monday-Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM PST by dialing 800-733-6270 and pressing 1. Hope this helps!

  3. Hello. I just purchased the NS-LGS05 product
about a month ago from Amazon.
Today when I tried to cook again, the screen
    simply displayed “H01” error code
    and stopped working.

What should I do from here to fix it?
I have tried unplugging and plugging again
a few times to no avail.

    • Hi Jessica, H01 will come up when attempting cooking consecutive batches of rice. The temperature of the lid sensor and the center sensor are too high so the rice cooker will need to cool down before attempting to cook again. However, if the rice cooker was not in use previously and it showed the error code, then please contact our Customer Service Team for further assistance: https://www.zojirushi.com/app/customer_service/entry

      • So we can’t cook 2 batch of rice after one another? Is there a way to cool it down faster before we can cook another batch?. It’s so annoying when we are in hurry.

        • Hello Hue, that’s right! The rice cooker would need to cool down before it can cook a second batch of rice. To help it cool it down faster, turn off the rice cooker, leave the lid open and remove the cooking pan. Usually it can take about 30 minutes to an hour to completely cool down. We hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any questions!

  4. Hey. I have the older version, it’s still working, but when I need a inner pot replacement, I couldn’t find anywhere online or in store. Amazon sells it for $159. It’s ridiculous.

When I press timer button, light does not turn on andnothing happens.

    • Hi Janet, we have not tested cooking quinoa on this rice cooker. However, some of our customers have and they will usually use a 1:1 ratio (use the measuring cup included with your rice cooker) of water and quinoa and cook using the white rice setting. When testing other grains, we would recommend cooking a just one cup in case there is an overflow that could damage the rice cooker. Please let us know if you have any questions!

    • Hi Mr Math Yu, unfortunately our rice cookers are not designed to have a fixed cook time. The cooking flow and time when cooking rice will depend on the amount of rice being cooked and the environment’s temperature. This is done so that you will always enjoy perfectly cooked rice consistently. Now, a few of our rice cookers include a CAKE setting which is designed to steam/bake a cake. The cooking flow and time is already preset and cannot be adjusted. The only setting that allows to set a cooking time is our STEAM setting and this is done so that the right cooking time is set for different types of foods. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
