Have you ever thought about how rice cookers work? Why are there so many kinds of rice cookers and which is the best one for you? Our cookers are technical marvels that are actually quite simple when you look inside one. Basically, a thermal sensor tells the cooker when to stop heating the rice once it has absorbed all of the water being used to cook it. Then it goes into “keep warm” mode, and voila! Perfect rice, ready to enjoy, anytime!

Read on and let’s take a closer look inside…

Which is the right rice cooker for me?
IH Rice Cooker
Induction Heating (IH) Rice Cookers use a sophisticated technology that turns the whole inner cooking pan into a heat source, creating highly controllable, intense temperatures that steam each grain of rice perfectly. If you eat rice almost daily, and you’re serious about your cooking, there’s nothing like a precision instrument to give you the best results.
Micom Rice Cooker
Micom, or micro-computerized rice cookers, have a computer chip that controls the cooking process with precise temperatures and cooking times, depending on the type of rice you’re making. If you have rice occasionally and like to be adventurous with your rice dishes, then you may want to have an advanced cooker like this one.
Conventional Rice Cooker
These cookers are simple to operate and foolproof. They are inexpensive, compact and designed to cook at the touch of a button. Even if you only have rice once in a while, and are only interested in white rice, you will want to invest in a cooker like this one. They can function as vegetable steamers as well, so they really are an ideal countertop appliance.
