| Zojirushi introduces their first electrical hot plate to the Japanese home. This type of flat griddle cooking, or teppanyaki, got started after WWII as street vendors would cook on scrap sheet metal. Many dishes can be cooked this way, including okonmiyaki (Japanese style savory pancakes) and yakisoba (pan fried noodles). | With its deep inner pan and ability to cook stews and hot pots, this tabletop appliance comes from irori cooking style, the sunken hearth common in ancient Japanese homes. The hot pot was, and still is, a communal cooking style where everyone shares from the same pot. Zojirushi simply made it safer and more convenient. | Westerners were first introduced to this type of grilling with the Hibachi, a small charcoal grill that was portable. Grilling is a very popular cooking method in Japan, and when Zojirushi came out with an electric version, barbecue could be enjoyed inside the home. | The first portable fish roaster becomes widely popular as a safe way to broil fish right at the table or kitchen countertop. With fish being an important ingredient in Japanese cuisine, the ability to roast fish without the worry of excess smoke and odor is indispensible. |

| The Gourmet Roaster has heating elements in its lid and base for broiling or roasting your favorite cuts of meat or fish. A catalytic filter built into the lid helps to keep most of the odor inside, so even fish can be broiled indoors. | Our Indoor Electric Grill is designed to barbecue your steaks, vegetables or seafood; at your dining table with minimal effort. A drip pan is built-in to catch the excess oil and fat, making your hamburgers healthier for the family. | The Gourmet Sizzler® is an electric griddle, where frying anything from pork chops to pancakes is more fun when it's done at your table. Japanese teppanyaki or Korean BBQ is a great way to fill the house with gourmet aromas. | Our Gourmet d'Expert® electric skillets are ideal for braising pot roasts or chicken as they simmer in wine. Japanese cuisine features these skillets in their popular hot pot style of cooking, or the internationally familiar sukiyaki. | The Thermal Vacuum Cooking Pot is our Award Nominated*, ecology minded slow cooking system. Any kind of stew or chili can be started over the stove with
its pot, then slow cooked with its own heat, stored in the thermal vacuum cooking insulation of the outer casing. |
