Blooming Tea
Blooming tea, also called flowering tea, originated in China, and is a bundle of dried tea leaves that are tied together into a ball. Enjoy the tantalizing scene as the ball blooms itself into a beautiful flower as the tea is steeped. It is perfect to serve at tea parties!

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 1 blooming tea ball
  • 6 fl. oz. hot water*

*Follow the directions supplied with the tea on the ideal brewing temperature.

1

Fill Zojirushi water boiler & warmer with water and set temperature to 195°F.

2

Place 1 blooming tea ball in a cup. A glass cup makes a beautiful presentation.

3

When the water temperature reaches 195°F, dispense 6 fl. oz. of the hot water into the cup. (If using a tea kettle to boil the water, pour the boiling water into a separate cup first, then pour that water into the cup. This will cool the hot water to a suitable temperature.)

4

Brew for 5 minutes or until the ball is fully bloomed.

5

The tea may be used for 2 to 3 times, depending on the size and how long the tea was steeped the first time. For the second infusion, brew slightly longer. Check the tea package for further instruction.
