Chesapeake Crab Carrot Rice


Ingredients (serves 4-6):

To Cook in the Rice Cooker:

  • 2 cups (rice measuring cup) Jasmine rice
  • 16 oz. carrot juice
  • 1 tsp. Maryland style crab boil seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

To Add to Cooked Rice:

  • 1 Tbsp. grated lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup parsley, chopped
  • 8 oz. crab meat

  • 1/2 Tbsp. grated lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
  • 4 oz. crab meat

This recipe was developed for Zojirushi rice cooker models listed here. Adjustments may be necessary when using other models.

Measure rice accurately using the measuring cup that came with your rice cooker and place in the inner cooking pan.

Add carrot juice, crab boil seasoning and salt to the inner cooking pan and mix well with rice using the rice spatula. Cook the rice using the “MIXED” setting.

When rice completes cooking, gently fluff the rice with rice spatula.

Add grated lemon zest, chopped parsley and crab meat, and toss gently.

Serve immediately. Enjoy!
