Coffee Marinated Grilled Steak with Garlic Soy Sauce


Ingredients (serves 2): 

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cold 
  • 1 tsp. sugar 
  • 2 (11 oz. each) top round steaks, 1/2 inch thick 
  • 2 tsp. olive oil 
  • 1/4 tsp. salt 
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper, ground
For sauce: 

  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce 
  • 1 Tbsp. rice vinegar 
  • 1 Tbsp. honey 
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed garlic 

*This recipe was developed for the Indoor Electric Grill (EB-DLC10). Adjustments may be necessary when using other models.

Place coffee and sugar in a large bowl, and stir to dissolve.

Add steaks to the bowl, coat with coffee marinade and cover with plastic wrap. Marinate for one to two hours at room temperature.

Preheat the Indoor Electric Grill at HI for 6 minutes or until the operation light turns off.

Remove steaks from marinade, wipe off excess marinade and discard. Brush olive oil on each sides and season with salt and pepper.

Place steaks on the preheated grill and cook for 1-2 minutes or until steaks have brown grill marks.

Flip steaks, reduce temperature to LOW and cook for 1-2 minutes or until your preferred doneness. Be careful not to overcook.

Transfer steaks to individual plates and set aside.

In a small bowl, mix all ingredients for sauce then serve with steaks.
