Gyokuro is a high quality green tea that has a rich aroma with a hint of sweetness. To give rise to the sweetness and prevent from becoming bitter, the tea is brewed at a lower temperature of 140°F to 160°F . Enjoy this delicate tea, full bodied and beautifully green in color!
Ingredients (serves 3):
Fill Zojirushi water boiler & warmer with water and set temperature to 140/160°F.
When the water temperature reaches 140/160°F, dispense a total of 8 fl. oz. of hot water into the teacups and another 8 fl. oz. to the teapot. Wait for 1 minute. This will warm the teacups and teapot.
Discard all hot water from teacups and teapot. Place gyokuro tea leaves into the teapot.
Dispense 8 fl. oz. of hot water into the teapot. Steep for 1-1/2 to 2 minutes.
Pour tea into each teacup alternately so that the strength of the taste is equal for every cup.
Serve as is.
Tea leaves may be used up to three times. For the second infusion, brew for a shorter time, about 30 seconds. And for the third infusion, brew about 15 seconds.
