Coffee for two, for Valentine’s? For coffee lovers everywhere, this month we celebrate the richness that is coffee! C’mon, even you coffee purists out there probably drink dessert coffees now and then—they’re so deliciously irresistible. If you have a serious sweet tooth, our caramel coffee will surely satisfy that craving; and if you want just a little bit of tang, try our orange flavored coffee. Both can be made either hot or cold, with your Zojirushi Coffee Maker.
If you love coffee and love caramel even more, this dessert coffee is for you. Make this sweet treat for Valentine’s Day. You can top it with whipped cream, drizzle with more caramel and add sprinkles—wow!
If you can add a slice of lemon to iced tea, why not slices of oranges to coffee? The oranges will add a gentle burst of citrus to the coffee flavor—then smooth it all out with sugar and cream.
Ice your Creamy Caramel Coffee. Easily convert this recipe by using the iced coffee measuring lines when brewing, then adding ice to the glass carafe. Stir to further chill the coffee.
Add a small amount of milk to thin out the caramel sauce before pouring into your iced coffee. This will help with blending the drink together.
In the mood for a Hot Orange Coffee instead? Simply add the orange peel to the glass carafe with the hot coffee, and let it infuse for an aromatic treat.
If the coffee is in Keep Warm mode, remember to remove the orange peel before it over saturates. Oil from the peel may be difficult to clean from a stainless steel carafe.

A typical morning ritual in Italy is to gulp a shot of espresso, usually standing at the many coffee bars. It’s a quick hit of caffeine before rushing to work. There are places with tables, but you’ll pay more for the waiter service. A common belief is that Italians won’t drink milky coffees after 11am; which comes from their concern that milk can hinder digestion, especially after you’ve eaten your first meal. And since espresso is universal there, don’t order it by name if you want one. Just ask for “caffè”; it’s the generic term.
Useful Caffè Language
Latte: ordering a latte will get you just the milk; be specific--as in caffè latte. Corretto: “correct” coffee, meaning you fix it with a shot of liquor. Zucchero: sugar, which Italians love in their coffee. Panna: cream for your coffee.
Cornetto
A typical Italian breakfast might include munching on a horn shaped Italian pastry called a cornetto. Try our Choco Cornet at home and go Italian!
Granita di Caffè
During summer, Italians love this slushy iced dessert which is of course, made with coffee. You can easily make your own at home. If Bert-san can do it, so can you.
Coffee Ice Cream
It may not be exactly gelato, but our homemade coffee ice cream recipe can be made just by brewing coffee with one of our Zojirushi Coffee Makers. Top it with a coffee liqueur to really enjoy it.
